Symptom

  • Running the command sequence of ALTER TABLE DROP COLUMN NO DATACOPY and REORG REBUILD:

alter table <tablename> drop column <col1>, <col2>, <col3> with no datacopy
reorg rebuild <tablenmame>

  • Results in Error 614:

Msg 614, Level 21, State 12
Server 'SERVERNAME', Line 1
Adaptive Server accessed a row that has an illegal length of 14131 whilein database 'dbname'. Page pointer = 0x0x2ab6f469b000, pageno = 14112769,
status = 0x801, ptnid = 1503341389, indexid = 0, level = 0. The minimum row length is 29. The page size is 2048.
