2242275 - Connect failed: Wrong database ID or Database SID cannot be empty in SWPM or invalid database name

Symptom

Case 1:

You want to install an Additional Application server to an existing SAP system running on a HANA database. During SWPM dialog phase, the Database ID is determined wrong but the according field cannot be changed leading to a subsequent failure in the connection to the database.
Sapinst throws an error: "Connect failed: Wrong database ID! Given: <wrong DBSID> Found: <correct DBSID>"

You want to perform a system refresh using a HANA backup of a different source system. During the target installation when it prepares to restore the backup, it fails stating

invalid database name <sid>

and as in Case 1, you see the incorrect DBSID and cannot edit it.
