2245027 - Auto deletion of files on SFTP server

Symptom

-> The Boomi process is executing and placing the files in a SFTP folder location which is: '/WFA/From_%Customer-username%'.

-> But within 15 minutes those files get deleted from the folder automatically due to which the file is not being picked up by another 'File retreival' process.

-> However in another 'sftp' environment, the files do not get deleted even when placed in the same folder.

Reproducing the Issue

-> Tried placing a 'Test.txt' file manually in the same folder and could see that within 15 minutes that also got deleted from the folder automatically.

-> Also tried replicating the issue in another sftp environment but there the file does not get deleted.

Cause

-> The path /WFA/From_%Customer-username% is for WFA extract processing only and anything placed here is picked up automatically by SAP SFSFs Automated data retrieval tool and then deleted off SFTP server.

-> So basically no one except WFA customers or internal systems sending extract that are needed for WFA processing should be using the '/WFA/..' folder as it is really an alias that points to separate storage on the back end.

-> This is a standard folder created by SAP SFSF and should not be used for placing files by customers unless of course they are meant to be picked up by WFA internal systems for ETL processing which is nothing but the reason why they automatically get removed from this folder.

-> Also the reason why it may not get deleted in some other environment is because the same folder structure, if not created by SAP rather by the customer themselves is different from the standard one.

-> So if someone just creates a sftp folder called /WFA and replicates the exact folder structure then its not the same as the standard and it bypasses this standard process of moving/deleting the files.

Resolution

Files needed for any other HCM products processing should not be placed in this folder structure so the solution is to place those files in a different folder on sftp.
