Symptom
When using Job Selector on the Compensation Profile, the system allows the planner to increase the PayGrade to a different value than the values defined in the Promotion Map.
Environment
Compensation
Reproducing the Issue
In the Promotion Map we can define the new Pay Grades the employee can be eligible for in the compensation cycle.
But when using Job Selector in the Compensation Profile the system allows the planner to select different Pay Grades (In our example the system should only allow this employee to move from PayGrade 8 to 9 as defined in the Promotion Map but is proposing a new Pay Grade of 11)
Cause
This is the expected behaviour.
Resolution
The Promotion Map and Job Selector are not designed to work at the same time. Once the job selector is used, all 4 job fields will be linked by the job family/job role/job code setup.
The Job Code and Pay Grade mappings that are used by the Job Selector are only defined in Actions for All Plans > Salary Plans > Job Code & Pay Grade Mapping.
