2250044 - Using HTML Tags in Message Definition of Business Rule for custom MDF Object

Symptom

A message, triggered from a Business Rule, containing HTML tags shows the tags as simple text.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
  • Metadata Framework (MDF)

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure Message information in Business Rule for a custom MDF object by using HTML tags.
  2. Log into the instance
  3. Go to custom MDF portlet
  4. trigger the related business rule for message appearing.
  5. A pop up appears with message. Instead of a link the HTML tags show around the hyperlink text: XXXXXX <A HREF="http:/ .......... .pdf" target+"_blank">

Same for: <BR/> XXXXX <BR/>

Cause

Not all the User Interfaces inside of SuccessFactors will be able to interpret the HTML codes inserted in the message definitions.

Resolution

This is expected behaviour, and a limitation on some UIs of SuccessFactors. For a seamless experience, we recommend not including these codes if you are not certain that the page supports it.

We currently don't have any specific date for this being included in future releases, but we always recommend providing your idea and voting up through our Influence Portal: 2090228 - How to Submit Ideas for SAP SuccessFactors Products.

Instead of HTML tags, kindly try to use BB code  Supported BB Codes for RTF Formatting | SAP Help Portal  for formating the message defined in business rule.
