Whenever you are unable to view an newly created event reason under Employment information--->take action--->Change job and compensation info--> Job information

though are able to view it under Emploment information---Job information history---->insert new record.

This also applies when you do not see the event of the event reason. So if you just see no selection on the event this means that the none of the event reasons has status no selection on the manage organization pay and job structures.

Under Admin Tools--->Manage Organization, Pay and Job Structures-->Event Reason--->Testing

you can see the "Employee Status" is set to "active"

So to overcome of this issue you shall have to make the "Employee Status" to "No Selection" as shown below.

then you woulb be able to view in under Employment information--->take action--->Change job and compensation info--> Job information.
