2252062 - Error "Could not apply the changes" occurs in step "Byte Code Adapter Installation"

Following error occurs in step "Byte Code Adapter Installation" or ISAdmin page:

Failed to update VM parameters - com.sap.smdagent.vmmanager.VMManagerException: Could not apply the changes

In the meanwhile, updating user SM_COLL_<Solman_SID> role in step "Maintain Users" gets error:
