Reproducing the Issue

  1. Add Items or Requirements to a Curriculum
  2. Assign the Curriculum to a User
  3. Note that in the User's record, the Curriculum shows as completed
  4. None of the Items in the Curriculum or Requirements have been completed, or show as completed in the User's Completed Items list
  5. From the User view, the Curriculum appears in the User's Learning Plan
  6. The User's Curricula Status page shows the Curriculum as completed.

Cause

  • The item(s) within the curricula or curricula requirements does not have an Effective Date and/or Assignment Type populated
  • There is no items but only requirement pool without effective date & user needs to complete only a number of Items within curricula requirement pool.
  • The Effective date is set for a time in the furture at curricula content level.

Resolution

Without an Effective Date and Assignment Type of 'Required', the items or requirement is considered optional and the Curricula will always be considered 'Complete'.

  • If you want to group Items that are optional for the User to complete, consider using an Assignment Profile or Programs.
  • Add the Effective Date and Assignment Type by following below steps:
    1. Learning Activities > Curricula > Search for the affected curriculum
    2. Contents tab > Manage content

    1. Edit > Add the Effective Date as required and Assignment Type as Required > Apply Changes > Go back to the Curriculum Details tab > Save

NOTE:

  • Make sure Effective date is at current date or prior to current date. If it is a future date the system will view the curricula as optional and will consider it completed until effective date.
  • Assignment type does not apply to requirement pool.
