Cannot Scrap Externally-Owned Inventory item XYZ.

1. Go To Internal Logistics Work Center
2. Select the Common Task Scrapping
3. Search for the Product XYZ
4. System informs no item can be found

The Product XYZ is part of the Externally-Owned stock management scenario, which enables company to manage inventory that physically resides on the premises of company but belongs to a different owner.

For legal reasons and due to business constraints, externally-owned stock is excluded from some standard business and logistics processes:

 > Externally-owned stock items cannot be considered in scrapping processes.
 > Externally-owned stock does not support custodian stock processes.

If the product XYZ is procured through Third Party Order Processing, you can only remove of the product XYZ from the warehouse through the Return processing i.e. Returning the Goods to the Supplier.

In general, it is not possible to scrap the Externally-Owned stock. This is expected system behavior.
