2253848 - Usernames are replicated as capital letters to SAP SuccessFactors through BizX Add-On

Note: This becomes an issue if the initial decision was to make HCM (on-premise) system as master data system, but successfactors BizX suite is made to go-live first.

Issue: SAP SuccessFactors system is already live and used but the users for some module. Now SAP HCM system is stable and ready to be integrated with SFSF so data can be synchronized.

When initially successfactors users where created their Usernames were in Upper and lowercase like ‘Cgrant’, when the same user is sent from SAP HCM system through the Add-On content the username comes to BizX as ‘CGRANT’.

This creates a new username for the existing user ID.

This is an expected behavior, the root cause is that in SAP R/3 system, usernames are always stored in capital letters and this is a standard system behavior.

These kinds of conflicts happen due to bad implementation done.

It is always necessary to stick on to the master data system first and start the development from there.

Suggested solutions:

1. Please purge all the users in the SFSF and then sync the data from SAP HCM to BizX through the full extract of users.

Risk Involved: All the workflows created will be invalid as the userID will differ after the purging and loading of data.

      2.   Do not purge the data, load the full extract from SAP HCM into BizX system. This will update all the existing usernames to capitals, then reset the passwords for all the users and send out the mass mail in company.

Note: In the suggested solution 2, as the user ID will be retained the chances of losing any processes in pipeline for Job requisition or Job Application is not there. Hence, if the system is already live then the second option would be better. Also, this workaround is used in case there are no patterns recognized in the usernames in BizX system for example: Name always starts with capitals and rest in small or always the second letter is capital
