2254986 - Error: You Must Not Deactivate The Default Set Of Books Of A Company

Symptom

You are trying to Deactivate the Default Set of Books maintained in the Set of Books activity and you can see the error message: You must not deactivate the default set of Books of a company

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business configuration view
  2. Go to Overview
  3. Search and open activity Set of Books
  4. Select the Set of Books and click on Edit
  5. Go to Company Settings tab
  6. Click on Deactivate
  7. You can see the error message: You must not deactivate the default set of Books of a company

Cause

If you are using multiple Sets of Books, you need to make one of your Set of Books as the Default Set of Books for each company. This is necessary for business processes where pricing information is transferred to application areas outside financial and management accounting. In these cases the pricing information is taken from the Default Set of Books.

Resolution

  1. Go to Business configuration view
  2. Go to Overview
  3. Search and open activity Set of Books
  4. Select the Set of Books and click on Edit
  5. Go to Company Settings tab
  6. Deselect the option - Default Set of Books
  7. Now click on option Deactivate, system will allow you to Deactivate the Set of Books.
