Symptom

There are many not limited to:

  • Profiling or rule task hang, and eventually fail with IDS_DS_ENGINE_HANG due to timeout (default is 10 minutes)
  • Profiling or rule task fail with following error

    • [E] 2015-07-29 14:46:45.381 [TaskUtility][pool-4-thread-1] The Data Services engine could not complete the request because of an internal error. (TSK-10078)
