Symptom
- A SYSAM enabled (ex-Sybase) product cannot check out a license from a license server
- As a result, the product may not start or start in 'grace' mode
- A SYSAM License server is not starting
- Client side messages will vary somewhat depending on which (ex-Sybase) product is used.
- Below an example from ASE errorlog:
SySAM: Checked out graced license for 8 ASE_CORE (2023.12310/permanent/1FC9 C34D D8DA D820) will expire Mon 20 Mar 2022 12:25:55 PM
SySAM: Failed to obtain license(s) for ASE_CORE feature from license file(s) or server(s).
SySAM: Cannot connect to license server system.
SySAM: The license server manager (lmgrd) has not been started yet,
SySAM: the wrong port@host or license file is being used, or the
SySAM: port or hostname in the license file has been changed.
SySAM: FlexNet Licensing error:-15,570. System Error: 115 "Operation now in progress"
Error: 131274, Severity: 17, State: 1
SySAM: WARNING: ASE will shutdown on Mon 20 Mar 2022 12:25:55 PM, unless a suitable ASE_CORE license is obtained before that date.
- Other messages that are indicative of a license server issue include:
FLEXlm error -15,10 "Cannot connect to license server" or
"WinSock: Connection refused"
SySAM: The desired vendor daemon is down.
Check the lmgrd log file, or try lmreread. - A check on the SYSAM license server, using command "sysam status -a " returns:
License server machine is down or not responding. SYBASE: Cannot connect to license server system. - Other errors may be reported in the SYSAM server log SYBASE.log
