Symptom

Can SAP Jam edition be downgraded without losing existing content?

Environment

SAP Jam Collaboration

Reproducing the Issue

You have decided to downgrade your SAP Jam instance. SAP process this request and compete the downgrade

Cause

There are 4 editions of SAP Jam available- Enterprise, Advanced Plus, Advanced and Basic

Each higher edition has more features & functionality than all editions lower to it, e.g. only the Enterprise edition has 'Ideas Forum'

Resolution

  • Content is never deleted from SAP Jam without the customer's consent or choosing to do so.
  • If an SAP Jam instance is downgraded, all the content is retained. 
  • If the instance is upgraded again, all previous content will be available again.

Please note: Although not deleted, certain content will not be available if the edition you are downgrading to does not contain that feature.
