2257886 - ITS Up/Down: Error message during download via WEBGUI

Symptom

During download a file via SAP GUI for HTML the following error message appears:

  1. The page at <host>:<port> says: Error: NOT_FOUND_ERR
    Error: NOT_FOUND_ERR 

  2. Error: Frontend Service Method: Query file or directory "C:\<file name>".
    The path "C:\<file name>" contains forbidden characters or has an invalid format.
    (Absolute paths must start with Z: or z: for Windows, and with /Z for other systems.)

After clicking on the OK button, the Error writing file message appears. Double-clicking on the error text, the error message number FES016 can be seen as well:

  • In case of below kernel versions, if the applet-free frontend service implementation has been activated:
    • SAP Kernel Release 722 from patch 19 up to 129
    • SAP Kernel Release 742 from patch 311 and higher
    • SAP Kernel Release 745 from patch 25 up to 117
    • SAP Kernel Release 746 from patch 12 and higher
  • In case of below kernel version by default:
    • SAP Kernel Release 722 patch 130 and higher
    • SAP Kernel Release 745 patch 118 and higher
    • SAP Kernel Release 749 and higher
