2257924 - DBCC CHECKSTORAGE fails with Error 9953, 9959, 9970, 9975 - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • When running the 'dbcc checkstorage' command, ASE reports the following errors:

Msg 9953, Level 20, State 2:
Line 1:
ASE failed to synchronize the activity of a worker process with the coordinating process. This is an internal error. Please contact SAP Technical Support.

Msg 9959, Level 20, State 1:

Line 1:
The CHECKSTORAGE operation has aborted.

Msg 9970, Level 20, State 1:

Line 1:
DBCC cannot update the finish time in dbcc_operation_log table for this operation(opid = '2') of database 'tdb1'. This can be patched by executing sp_dbcc_patch_finishtime.

Msg 9975, Level 10, State 1:

Line 1:
DBCC CHECKSTORAGE for database 'tdb1' encountered an error. Some results may not be available. Correct the problems reported and reexecute the CHECKSTORAGE command.

  • The ASE errorlog shows a stack trace with the following modules:

pchk__compressed_row()
pchk_dol_page_row()
pchk_dol_data_page()
pchk_all_pages()
