2258753 - Employee Does not Appear in the Direct Approvers List of the Sales Quote or Sales Order Approval Process

Symptom

When creating a sales quote or sales order approval process with the work distribution rule Direct Approvers, the employee's name is not available for selection in the list of Direct Approvers work distribution.

Reproducing the Issue

This issue occurs for both the approval processes for sales quotes and sales order. In the following example, the approval process for sales quotes will be used:

  1. Go to the Application and User Management Work Center.
  2. Select the Task Distribution view and the Approval Process sub view.
  3. Select the Default approval process for Sales Quote.
  4. Click on the Copy button.
  5. In the Work Distribution field, select Direct Approvers from the dropdown list.
  6. Click on the Edit button.

The employee ABC is not available for selection in the list for the Direct Approver (ABC represents the name of the employee).

Cause

The employee ABC is not visible in the list of Direct Approvers because, in order to perform the task execution, the user must have write access to the work center view MMA_SALES, which is from where the permission for the required task execution is granted.

If the user does not have this work center view assigned or this work center view has only Read Access and no Write Access, the user will not be displayed as one of the probable persons who can participate in the approval process as Direct Approver.

Resolution

To make the employee name available in the list, assign the work center view MMA_SALES to the employee ABC by performing the following steps:

  1. Go to the Application and User Management work center.
  2. Select the Business Users view.
  3. Select the user ABC.
  4. Click on the Edit button and select the Access Rights option.
  5. Navigate to Work Center and View Assignment tab.
  6. Assign the work center view MMA_SALES to this user.
  7. Navigate to Access Restrictions tab.
  8. Ensure that both Read Access and Write Access for the work center view MMA_SALES are Unrestricted.
  9. Save the changes.

The employee ABC can now be selected as a Direct Approver in the approval process for sales quotes and/or for sales orders.
