Symptom
Connection from linux platform to remote SQL Server fails with errors
DBAcockpit > Database connections > <connection name> Test
-- ERROR Database connection <name>: ADBC error 'Internal error 8.192 has occured'
The developer trace shows the following error:
Loading DB library '/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS00/exe/dbmssslib.so' ...
*** ERROR => DlLoadLib()==DLENOACCESS - dlopen("/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS00/exe/dbmssslib.so") FAILED
"libodbc.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" [dlux.c 550]
*** ERROR => Couldn't load library '/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS00/exe/dbmssslib.so' [dbcon.c 7084]
***LOG BYG=> could not load library for database connection <name>[dbds 972]
***LOG BZY=> unexpected return code 8192 calling DBDS [dbacds 2029]
*** ERROR => Unexpected RC when calling dsql_connect
The dbmssslib.so and ODBC driver both exist.
