If Opportunity Party Re-determination is enabled in a system, then changes to the following are tracked:

  • Account Team changes
    • Addition of an Account Team member
      • Redetermination will be scheduled for:
        • The start date of the assignment (today if the assignment is retroactive).
        • The day after the end date of the assignment, if the assignment has an end date earlier than 31 December 9999.
    • Removal of an Account Team member
      • Redetermination will be scheduled for today.
    • Update of an Account Team member
      • If any of the fields Employee UUID, Party Role Code, Validity Start or End Date, or Default Indicator is changed, then redetermination will be scheduled for:
        • The start date of the assignment (today if the assignment is retroactive).
        • The day after the end date of the assignment, if the assignment has an end date earlier than 31 December 9999.
  • Territory Team changes
    • Addition of a Territory Team member
      • Redetermination will be scheduled for:
        • The start date of the assignment (today if the assignment is retroactive).
        • The day after the end date of the assignment, if the assignment has an end date earlier than 31 December 9999.
    • Removal of a Territory Team member
      • Redetermination will be scheduled for today.
    • Update of a Territory Team member
      • If any of the fields Employee UUID, Party Role Code, Validity Start Date or Validity End Date is changed, then redetermination will be scheduled for:
        • The start date of the assignment (today if the assignment is retroactive).
        • The day after the end date of the assignment, if the assignment has an end date earlier than 31 December 9999.
  • Territory-Account assignment change
    • Any change of Territory-Account assignment
      • Redetermination for the affected account will be scheduled for today.

To complete the redetermination, a batch report is run in background starting every 8 minutes:

  • In that job, the scheduled account and territory changes for that day or prior are read, and the opportunities are selected for redetermination as follows:
    • If a change is to an Account Team or to the Territory-Account Assignment
      • The Opportunities for the Account that are in status ‘Open’ or ‘In Process’ and do not have approval status ‘In Approval’ are selected.
    • If the change is to a Territory Team:
      • The Accounts assigned to the Territory are read. Then the Opportunities for the selected Accounts are determined as above.

In the Party Redetermination, Party Determination rules are run again for the selected Opportunities with the following exceptions:

  • Roles with Role Category Activity (34), Buyer (1), or Prospect (31) are always marked not-relevant for redetermination.
  • For other Party roles, any role which has only the ‘current user’ rule configured in redetermination will be marked not-relevant.

NOTE: Only parties that were automatically determined via Party Determination are eligible for redetermination. Parties maintained by a user will not be changed. This also includes party assignments done by A2X services.
