2262379 - 'LOCK TABLE' command is not supported on any Secondary server in Multiplex - SAP IQ

Symptom

  • IQ 16.0 doesn't support 'Lock Table in write mode' in a Secondary server.
  • The following error is reported in IQ 16.0 SP10.x:

(DBA)> lock table "BASE_TAB01" in write mode wait
     Could not execute statement.
     Permission denied: Command not allowed on Multiplex Writer servers.
     (saintlib/saint_iqthresholdddl.cxx 11805)
     SQLCODE=-1004015, ODBC 3 State="HY000" Line 1, column 1

  • However, in IQ 12.7 this feature was successfully used on a Reader node which had Local Store in Multiplex. There was no errors.
