2263251 - How to Run a One Time Full HRIS Sync - Customer PARTNER


This KB article explains how to schedule and run a Full HRIS Sync.

*PARTNERS ONLY KBA. As of now, all customers can create, run and monitor jobs themselves directly from Admin Center using the "Schedule Job Manager" tool.

Reproducing the Issue



Follow the steps below steps to run a one time full HRIS Sync:

  1. Log into the backend (Provisioning).


  1. Scroll down to Managing Job Scheduler > click on Manage Scheduled Jobs.


  1. On the Manage Scheduled Jobs page, click Create New Job.


  1. Fill in the mandatory fields with the appropriate data:
  • Job Name: Any meaningful job name
  • Job Owner: Should be an active admin user in the instance
  • Job Type: HRIS Sync
  • Occurrence: Once


  • Provide any date from when you want the data to be checked and synced.
  • For Full Sync, it is recommended to use date as 01/01/1900:


Note: Please schedule and run this job in off business hours as you may face intermittent performance issues when this job is running.

Best Practices to schedule Sync jobs See: 2080728 - Employee Central: What is HRIS Sync?

  • Full Sync
    • Full Sync job is meant for initial customer go-live or for any massive data change or for any major data discrepancies. It is not advisable to schedule a Full Sync job daily or weekly or monthly or quarterly, etc. If there are data discrepancies, please raise tickets for support and support can advise if Full Sync needs to be run. In any and all cases, Full Sync should never be scheduled.
  • Delta Recurring Job
    • As we know, the system will kick delta Sync job for every change made via UI, API, Import. Hence we recommend not to schedule delta Sync job on an hourly basis. 
    • Some customers still prefer to schedule an hourly delta sync job depending on their business cases. Product Support/EC Engineering Team See Here

NOTE: As a customer, you don't have access to Provisioning. To complete tasks in Provisioning, contact your implementation partner. If you're no longer working with an implementation partner, contact SAP Cloud Support.
