Symptom
- The data in the ENDING AT clause is not enclosed by parentheses when altering an existing partition of a DB2 table, or when adding a partition to a DB2 partitioned table.
- As an example, SAP PowerDesigner generates:
alter table tablename
alter partition partname ending at value; - Executing the SQL script generated by SAP PowerDesigner leads to an SQLERROR:
SQLCODE = -104, ERROR: ILLEGAL SYMBOL "newValue". SOME SYMBOLS THAT MIGHT BE LEGAL ARE: (
