2265665 - Goods and Service Receipt is Not Posted Due to Missing Segment and Proft Center

You have noticed an unposted source document and an error message which prevents the document from being posted. The error message is:

• Segment missing; segment reporting active from DD.MM.YYYY
• Profit center missing; profit center accounting active from DD.MM.YYYY

1. Go to General Ledger work center.
2. Go to the Closing Cockpit view.
3. Go to Source Documents sub-view.
4. And search for your Source Document ID, in this case the source document is a Goods and Service Receipt.
5. Select the ID and under the Details session you can see this error:

• Segment missing; segment reporting active from DD.MM.YYYY
• Profit center missing; profit center accounting active from DD.MM.YYYY

The error occurs since there is no Cost Center maintained for account assignment in the Goods and Service Receipt. If no Cost Center is maintained the system is not be able to derive both profit center and segment to ensure such a valid organizational assignment for automatically created assets.

You may maintain the default profit center in the below steps:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center and Implementation Projects view.
2. Select the project, and select Open Activity List.
3. Go to tab Fine-Tuning Activities.
4. Select Fine Tuning activity Profit Center Derivation.
5. Select Edit Default Profit Center.
6. Click Add Row.
7. Enter required data and specify Profit Center for each Subledger.
8. Choose Save.

Now you are able to post the document.
