2266238 - Error: "Unable to connect to the CMS system database" when starting the SIA BI 4.x

Symptom

  • Not able to start the Business Intelligence (BI) Central Management Server (CMS)

CMS Logs show the following errors:

  • (../ODBCDatabase.cpp:158) ODBC error found:  ErrorMessage([Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Parse error: DSN '<DSNNAME>' does not exist), ErrorCode(-754)
  • |SIServerController:run: Fail to initialize or uninitialize.  Reason is The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: SAP BusinessObjects BI platform CMS: Unable to connect to the CMS system database ""<DSNNAME>"". Reason: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Parse error: DSN '<DSNNAME>' does not exist
  • SResourceSource::LoadString CMS is unstable and will shut down immediately. Reason: %1 (FWB 00087)
