2267608 - Changed query in Detailed Reporting / Advanced Reporting is not being updated in a report

• An existing query saved in Detailed Reporting / Advanced Reporting has been used in an ORD report.
• Changes later done to the query do not reflect in the aforementioned report

• SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
• Online Report Designer

1. Create a new Detailed Reporting or Advanced Reporting query directly from the corresponding query designer
2. Create a new ORD Report and add this query to the report and save the report
3. Edit the original query again through the query designer and save changes
   The changes made in step 3 do not reflect in the report created in step 2

Queries that are created and saved in Detailed Reporting or Advanced Reporting can also be used in report components in Report Designer.
But once a query is added as a component to a Report (ORD > Report > Page > Component), the report and the original query are no longer associated.
i.e. the Report now just holds an independent snapshot / copy of the original query

Therefore when the original query in Detailed Reporting or Advanced Reporting is changed, the query in the report component needs to be refreshed.

The only way to get the updated query in the existing report is to re-add it.

1. Edit the Report under concern
2. Delete the existing component (query) from the report
3. Add the original query that was updated through the query designer
   NOTE: This will discard any changes done to the Report meanwhile
