Symptom
A query/report based on the Job Information (Date Range) domain does not display data for some users.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Online Report Designer / Ad Hoc Reporting
SAP SuccessFactors Report Center: Report - Table / Report - Canvas
Reproducing the Issue
- Login to the desired instance.
- Analytics - Analytics/Reporting
- From the Reporting menu select any of the reports under the respective folder.
For instances with Report Center, run the report directly from the Reporting tab - The Runtime Filters window pop with, for this example, with the below values:
- From Date: 1/18/2015
- To Date:1/18/2017
- You click ok without changing anything.
- The report doesn't show all the expected users although you have access to it.
- When you check the missing users from Employee Files - Employment information you can see that the Effective Date is 1/18/2014, under Job information.
Note: the same behaviour occurs with Ad Hoc report when the Job Information (Date Range) domain is used.
Cause
Incorrect date filters applied by the user.
Resolution
In this case, the range selected in the ‘runtime’ filters doesn’t match the effective date of the desired data.
If you adjust the runtime filter range to include the ‘effective date’ as defined for the missing users data will be shown in the report.
You can view the ‘runtime filters’ selection via Report Designer – Run/Preview the report and change the ‘Runtime filters’ selection based on the user Effective dates.
Note: in case of live data there are 'Default runtime filters' which will pop up only at runtime. If you are in Edit, preview or query level the ‘runtime filter’ window will not pop up.
