2268517 - Large number of RFC sessions from UWL are kept opened

Symptom

You have the Universal Worklist (UWL) in the portal connecting to different R/3 back end systems by means of WebFlowConnectors.

At peak times when many users are active in the UWL, you notice that even after the users log off from the portal (or close the browser) their sessions are kept opened when checking on transaction SM04 at the R/3 back end system.

During busy hours, a large number of such pending sessions can accumulate and exhaust significant amount of R/3 system resources, before expiring.
