For security reasons, Diagnostics Agents have to be connected to SAP Solution Manager using secure connections. This SAP Note describes how to configure the P4S port with SAP Solution Manager 7.2. It furthermore provides somes details regarding issues that might occur after the upgrade of the SAP Solution Manager 7.1 to 7.2 in terms of agent connectivity: E.g. the Diagnostics Agents cannot be configured to use the MS P4/SSL option or rather automatically switches back to the plain P4 connection type.
