2272183 - iViews in Workload Analysis do not work

You want to see iViews in Workload Analysis but they do not work and throw error: Value "IVIEWS" for varaiable "E2E Metric Type Variable" is invalid.

SAP Solution Manager 7.10

1. Start SM_WORKCENTER to access RCA E2E Workload Analysis tool
2. Choose your system
3. Start Workload Analysis
4. Click Portal -> Top iViews
5. Run query

IVIEWS metrics are not activated by default, but prepared. You have to activate them manually.

1. Go to step "7 Configure Automatically" of the Managed System Configuration for your system.
2. Go into "Edit" mode.
3. Start activity "Byte Code Adapter Installation" manually with pressing "Open Java URL" in Navigation column.
4. In the new browser window select all J2EE server nodes of your system, choose "Autoprobe Directives".
5. Mark the instrumentation files sap_ep.jar and sap_ep_iviews.jar
6. Click "Apply" to activate the parameterization.

The additional instrumentation will become effective with the next restart of <SID>~JAVA.

The iView data should be available at latest after one day in E2E Workload Analysis Tool.


REMARK:

Make sure you are running newest patch for your Introscope Java Agent as many enhancement were introduced for iViews.
