Symptom

When running a custom application on a non-Tomcat application server, such as WebSphere, various "not found" type errors occur, which do not happen in Tomcat.

Example errors (not a complete list):

  • classNotFound Exceptions
  • java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
  • Class file <classname> couldn't be reached
