2273134 - CMS shuts down in BI 4.x when SAP ASE password encryption is enabled

Symptom

  • Unable to use SAP (Sybase) ASE as a CMS database when password encryption is enabled.
  • Error returned is:

    "SAP BusinessObjects BI platform CMS Unable to connect to the CMS system database "sapftasdev.
    Reason: Adaptive Server requires encryption of the login password on the network. (FWB 00090)
    The system cannot verify the database logon information. [INS00104]"
