Symptom

  • A MERGE command against an APL table returns Error 16842 :

Msg 16842, Level 16, State 2:
Server 'servername', Line 2:
Merge updates the same target row more than once.
Command has been aborted

  • The MERGE command runs fine fter changing the table locking schema to DOL.
