How to activate or enable a field in Employee Central

Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
Resolution
- Navigate to Admin Center -> Manage Business Configuration -> Select any portlet (say Personal Info portlet)
- To create a field
- Select any field in the identifier dropdown
- Provide a name to the field
- Set Enabled as ‘Yes’
- Set Mandatory as ‘Yes’ if you need to field to be marked as mandatory.
- Save
- Provide proper permission to view the field.
- Navigate to Admin center->Manage permission role
- Choose respective role
- Click on permission button->Select Employee Central Effective Dated Entities
- Give the needed permissions
- Save
- The newly created field will be visible now under Personal Info portlet
NOTE: This steps are valid for every effective dated portlet from Employee Central, such as Job Information or compensation information.
