Symptom
You want to define an accrual rule considering the seniority of the employee within the company.
Resolution
- The accrual rule must be defined exactly as in the implementation guide session Accrual Based on Seniority so that when you use the lookup function it doesn't return two values make sure when creating the Seniority Lookup Table the values do not overlap. Eg: first value 0 to 0, second value 1 to 3, third value 4 to 100... :
- Each Seniority Lookup Table that you use should have one record with a “Seniority From” value of 0.
- If you want to accrue time only upon completing full years of service (eg: hire date in november 2015 would get difference in calendar years = 0 on January 2016), make sure that you include below the Accrual Lookup by Seniority a round down calculation.
- This would make the previous example only accrue extra time in January 2017.
