2276725 - Cannot get OutBuffer error in PI SOAP Sender Adapter

Symptom

  • The issue occurs in a SOAP Sender -> RFC Receiver synchronous scenario configured in SAP Process Integration (PI)/Process Orchestration (PO)
  • The SOAP Adapter is configured for HTTP communication (not HTTPS)
  • There is an intermittent error thrown in the SOAP Sender Channel which is visible in the Communication Channel Monitor
  • The error is: Cannot get OutBuffer: -7 connection to partner broken
  • This error is thrown if the RFC call is taking a long time to complete
