Symptom

  • Using Makefile to compile samples throws a syntax error on compilation:
    • cd /sybase/jConnect-16_0; /opt/java/bin/javac -classpath /sybase/jConnect-16_0/classes/jconn4.jar:/sybase/jConnect-16_0/classes:. -d classes `ls sample2/*.java
      /bin/sh: -c: line 0: unexpected EOF while looking for matching ``'
      /bin/sh: -c: line 1: syntax error: unexpected end of file
