2277782 - "Failed to open .../.cep_license.prop file: errno=13 Permission denied" licensing error - CEP 4.0

Symptom

  • The Sybase Complex Event Processor (CEP) server software installation uses an unlimited life-time unserved license.
  • Previously, the installed CEP server started successfully.
  • Currently, the installed CEP server failed to start with the following error:

    Info C1076: Sybase SySAM Message - (131228) : (Using licenses from: /export/applications/cep/SybaseC8/server/SYSAM-2_0/licenses).
    Info C1076: Sybase SySAM Message - (131244) : (Failed to open /export/applications/cep/SybaseC8/server/bin/.cep_license.prop file: errno=13 Permission denied.).
    Info C1076: Sybase SySAM Message - (131281) : (Failed to obtain 24 license(s) for CEP_CORE feature from license file(s) or server(s).).
