2279497 - Unable to Access Manage Business Configuration During Data Model Synchronization

Symptom

When attempting to open Manage Business Configuration, the following error message is displayed:

"Business Configuration is locked. Data models are currently synchronized. Please try again later."

  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Admin Center > Manage Business Configuration;
  2. Notice the error when Manage Business Configuration page is being loaded.

Cause

This is an expected system behavior. Manage Business Configuration is temporarily locked while the system synchronizes data models to ensure data consistency and prevent configuration changes during the synchronization process.

Resolution

If Business Configuration UI (BCUI) is locked, one possible cause is that the Succession Data Model (SDM) and Metadata Framework (MDF) are not synchronized. As a first step, re-upload the Succession Data Model and verify whether BCUI becomes available.

If BCUI remains locked, perform the following checks:

1. Review the Synchronize Business Configuration Job

  1. Navigate to the Synchronize Business Configuration job results.
  2. Open the Details section to identify any reported errors.
  3. Remove the fields referenced in the job results from the Succession Data Model.
  4. Re-upload the updated data model and run the synchronization again.

2. Run MDF Object Definition to DB SYNC

If the Synchronize Business Configuration job completes successfully without errors but BCUI is still locked:

  1. Run the MDF Object Definition to DB SYNC job.
