Symptom
- The Backup Server log shows multiple occurences of Error 16315.15.0. For example:
Open Server Session Fatal Error: 16315.15.0: srv__internal_read_packet: Protocol error occurred: length in header (19024) more than packet size(512).
Open Server Session Fatal Error: 16315.15.0: srv__internal_read_packet: Protocol error occurred: length in header (0) less than expected size(8).
- A few of these errors were reported in the past, but then Backup Server started reporting these errors in sets of 5 in a very particular pattern every day.
- On one occation several of the followng messages were reporetd in the ASE errorlog at the time when Backup Server was reporting Errors 16315.15.0:
kernel ksmask__rpacket: Invalid tdslength value 21536, kpid: 789119480
kernel originating node of previous invalid TDS packet: nn.nnn.nn.nn port : 36757
