2282125 - Connector error - Input file encoding is not supported. Please convert it to UTF-8 encoding and try again

Symptom

Connector Failed with the following error:

com.plateausystems.connector.api.ConnectorException: Input file encoding is not supported. Please convert it to UTF-8 encoding and try again. Input File - <filename>.txt

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Goto Learning Administration
  2. Try to Run any connector for ex: Item Connector
  3. Note that the connector status is updated as Failure
  4. Select View Errors
  5. Error Reported: Input file encoding is not supported. Please convert it to UTF-8 encoding and try again. Input File - <filename>.txt

Cause

File with wrong format UTF-8 was uploaded to SFTP folder.

Resolution

To check the file imported is UTF-8, review the associated Scheduled Job from Provisioning and ensure the file generated is uploaded to the SFTP in UFT-8 format.

Note: Reach out to your Implementation Partner regarding changes to Provisioning.
