2283447 - ADS allow only one connection and returns 7077 for others

Symptom

  • Only one client can connect to Advantage Database Server (ADS) and other clients fail to connect and returns 7077: The Advantage Data Dictionary cannot be opened error
  • Advantage database server error log entries also shows 7008: Advantage server file open failure
  • The error log also shows 32: Windows System Error Code for ERROR_SHARING_VIOLATION - The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
