Cause

The Deviating Holiday Calendar does not have a Working Day Calendar to be based off. This can be done by creating a Working Day Calendar which has the Holiday Calendar assigned.

The system requires a Working Day Calendar in order to identify the holidays to be considered in the Holiday Calendar.

Resolution

Please follow the steps below to configure the holiday calendar and adjust existing employees:

  1. Create a Working Day Calendar with the Holiday Calendar assignment:
    1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
    2. Enter the Overview view.
    3. Search for activity Working Day Calendar.
    4. Click on the activity name to open it.
    5. Click on Create New Working Day Calendars.
    6. In the first step, add the country and click on the Next button.
    7. In the second step, select the Holiday Calendar which is to be added to the employee as Deviating Holiday Calendar.
    8. In the third step, set up the working days of the calendar.
    9. Proceed with the Review and Confirmation steps of the wizard.

  2. Ensure that the Employee Time Models configured to accept half-day holidays (note: This set of steps is only required if the Holiday Calendar contains Half-Day holidays):
    1. Go to Time Administration work center.
    2. Enter the Employees view.
    3. Search for employee ABC (where ABC represents the employee ID).
    4. Click on the Edit button.
    5. Navigate to the Time Profile tab.
    6. Select the currently valid time profile.
    7. On the panel below, navigate to the Work Schedule sub-tab.
    8. Here you can see the information for the Daily Time Models assigned on the table Work Schedule below.
    9. Open the Time Administration work center.
    10. Enter the Time Models view.
    11. Search for the daily time model found on step h.
    12. Click on the Edit button.
    13. Select the currently valid under the Validity Intervals table.
    14. In the Details section the appears below, select Deviation On Half Day Off in the Show dropdown list.
    15. Ensure that there is an entry in this table, so this daily model can accept half-day holidays.

  3. Execute Day Closure Run for the employee to be updated:
    1. Go to Time Administration work center.
    2. Enter the Regular Tasks view.
    3. Click on Run Day Closure for One Employee.
    4. In the Employee Field, select the employee.
    5. Select the checkbox for Start Time Valuation.
    6. Click on the Run button.
    7. In the Valuation Start Date, set the date as one day before the change needs to be applied.
    8. Click on the Ok button.

After this, the holidays should be appearing in the employee work schedule.
