2289648 - Unable to Display the Deviating Half-Day Holiday Calendar in the Employee’s Time File

Symptom

You require country XYZ’s (where XYZ represents a Country) Holiday Calendar to be active for all Employees. In addition to these holidays, you need a Half-Day of holiday to be added only to all female employees for DD.MM.YYYY. You have maintained the Deviating Holiday Calendar for the employees, but unable to see DD.MM.YYYY declared as Half-Day holiday in the Time Profile of the employees.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

You want to see the Half-Day Holiday assigned to employee ABC (where ABC represents the Employee)

  1. Go to Time Administration work center
  2. Go to Employees view
  3. Search for the employee ABC
  4. On the OWL, select Actions->Maintain Deviating Holiday Calendar
  5. In the Display field, select link available in the Holiday Calendar Name

Not able to see DD.MM.YYYY declared as Half-Day Holiday

  1. Go to Time Administration work center
  2. Go to Employees view
  3. Search for the employee ABC
  4. Select Edit
  5. Go to Time Profile tab
  6. Select the button Show Holiday Calendar

Not able to see any Half-Day Holiday assigned for DD.MM.YYYY

Cause

Working Day Calendar is missing for the Deviating Holiday Calendar. The system internally checks for the Working Day Calendar in order to identify the holidays which it is not getting in this case because there is no relevant Working Day Calendar for the newly created Holiday Calendar.

Resolution

Below are the steps to configure the Half-Day Holiday Calendar.

1. If Deviating Holiday Calendar PQR (where PQR represents the Deviating Holiday Calendar)for DD.MM.YYYY does not have a corresponding Working Day Calendar, create a new Working Day Calendar or Maintain an existing Working Day Calendar, as needed. There has to be one Working Day Calendar which has PQR as its Holiday Calendar.

2. If DD.MM.YYYY is a Working Day as per the Work Schedule of the employee ABC and is expected to be a Half-Day off, the Time Model ZZZZZ (where ZZZZZ represents the Time Model) needs to be adjusted with Deviation on a Half-Day off, with Working Time of 4 hours.

3. Run Day Closure for employee ABC with Start Time Valuation from 1 day before this change needs to be applied.
Example: If the Half-Day holiday is on 08.03.2017, then the change needs to be applied from 06.03.2017 or 07.03.2017.

4. Once this is done, check the Show Work Schedule and Show Holiday Calendar from the Time Profile of the employee ABC.

The Work Schedule for DD.MM.YYYY would be 4 hours of Working Time and the holidays would have DD.MM.YYYY as a Half-Day holiday.
