2290129 - Using Easy Links in Learning Links Tile

When utilizing Easy Links, the following actions might need to be taken:

• Creating an Easy Link that points to a PDF or other static piece of content
• Modifying the Easy Link label to something else

To configure the link to point to a static file such as a PDF:

1. Host the file
• If the file can be publicly facing. Process is outlined in 2157471
• If the file is private, contact your IT team to host the file on an internal server. It must be set as “public”.
• Import it to iContent SFTP. Please note that the file should only be accessed via the Learning user side.
2. Go to System Administration > Application Administration > Easy Links > enter the URL
• Note: When maintaining the content in the iContent SFTP, please note that the URLs should be used with “icontent.do” shield. Using relative URLs may cause problems when any infrastructure takes place in the background.
• Example with DC-prefix "rot", https://<company.baseURL.com>/learning/user/onlineaccess/icontent.do?Course=CUSTOM_rot&url=/self-managed/<file path>
• You can find your DC-specific prefix in KBA:  2396085 - iContent Launch URL Prefix for each datacenter to be used in Deployment Location

To edit the links label value:

1. Go to System Administration -> Application Administration -> Easy Links:
2. Take value label ID: Example: data.menu.EasyLink1
3. Go to References -> Manage Labels -> Labels -> Search for Label ID: data.menu.EasyLink1
4. Edit locale label to the value that you require
• Note: Links appear to the user in alphabetical order by the label value not by ID.
