Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management
Resolution
- Users can attach supportive documentation to their performance review forms. For example, enhanced documented support for goals or competencies. Employees can capture additional information and attach to their performance forms
- Enhanced documented support for goals makes the performance review easier for managers to evaluate goals and competencies.
- Offers ability to capture information within the performance review processes that employees might want represented within their performance review.
- The Attachments are permissioned by role and they can be 'Enabled' and configured with attach action 'Read' or 'Edit'. Permission 'None’ is configured where attachments will not be displayed to the specified user.
- Read permission: Users can view all attachments, but can only add and edit their own attachments
- Edit permission: In addition to the read action, users can edit and delete all attachments.
- Supported file formats are:
- .doc
- .docx
- .txt
- .htm
- .ppt
- .pptx
- .xls
- .xlsx
- .gif
- .png
- .jpg
- .jpeg
- .html
- .rtf
- .bmp
- .msg
- .docm
- .tif
Prerequisites:
- Requires UI v12 (Revolution)
- Attachment Manager is enabled in Provisioning
- Each template needs to be configured separately before the feature can be used.
Note before Proceeding:
To use this feature, configuration must be completed in both the XML configuration and Form Template Settings
As a customer, you do not have access to Provisioning. Please engage a Certified Partner to assist with this configuration. If you do not have a Certified Partner, you can look for one using SAP Professional Services / SAP Certified Partner / SAP Account Management Team [SuccessFactors Cloud].
Steps to Enable
- Configure the settings and permissions in the XML using Implementing and Managing Performance Management - Configuring Permissions for Attachments.
NOTE: You cannot restrict the attachment permission to specific steps. - Since the permissions are enabled by default for all roles it is advisable to first configure the system with no permissions assigned and then grant them selectively as needed.
- You can enable the feature in Form Template Settings using Implementing and Managing Performance Management - Form Template Settings
- Kindly ensure that the attachment permission is always configured in the XML according to the tag hierarchy defined in the DTD. If error occurs while saving, please check the placement of the attachment-permission tag
How Users Can Add Attachments to the Supporting Information Pod
- In the upper right-hand corner of the performance form, click on the Supporting pod. To the right of the word Attachments, select the (+) icon:
- Browse for the attachment, and click on Upload to add the attachment.
