2294133 - Exception in Chart of Accounts

Your requirement is to maintain the Description for the Chart of Accounts in Business Configuration. But system throws the below exception while saving the Description.

Unexpected error during backend processing

Import using Microsoft Excel file:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center
2. Go to Implementation Projects view
3. For the relevant project, select Open Activity List
4. In tab Fine-Tune, open the activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination
5. Open activity Edit chart of accounts
6. Select Add Row and provide the Chart of Accounts XYZ
7. Select Import from Microsoft Excel
8. On the Import Chart of Accounts from File screen, select Download Template
9. Fill the required details and Save the file
10. Browse for the Import File for Chart of Accounts
11. Select Import
12. Select Save
13. System throws an exception

Update manually using the below steps:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center
2. Go to Implementation Projects view
3. For the relevant project, select Open Activity List
4. In tab Fine-Tune, open the activity Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination
5. Open activity Edit chart of accounts
6. Select Add Row and provide the Chart of Accounts XYZ
7. Select Translate
8. Choose the Source Language and Target Language from the respective drop-down
9. Select any structure and maintain the Target Language for the Description
10. Choose OK
11. Select Save
12. System throws an exception

The data type used for Description field allows only 80 characters in length. But the Account Description which you provided is longer than 80 characters.

Adjust the length of Account Description within 80 characters.
