Symptom

  • Errorlog reports timeslice:

timeslice -501, current process infected

  • With a stacktrace containing functions related to asynchronous IO calls
    • below a typical example, but other calls may be seen:

aiowrite
aioread
kaio__daiostart
basis_daiostart
basis_dstart
dstartio
udstartio

  • ASE appears hung for duration of timeslice or longer and can be hung permanently
  • If ASE is accessable, it can show many logins in "MAINTENANCE TOKEN" status
