Symptom
- Admin tries to add new labels to notification template "ItemEvaluationAssignmentNotification"
- When navigating to SystemAdmin/Configuration/NotificationTemplates/ItemEvaluationAssignmentNotification/ message body: admin can add manually
notification.ItemEvaluationAssignmentNotification.MessageText6
- When navigating to same place and trying to add, another label:
notification.ItemEvaluationAssignmentNotification.MessageText7 admin is receiving validation error message:
Environment
- Learning Management System (LMS)
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to SystemAdmin/Configuration/NotificationTemplates/ItemEvaluationAssignmentNotification/ message body and add the following label:
notification.ItemEvaluationAssignmentNotification.MessageText6
- Click edit label button and text of label can be edited,
- Navigate to SystemAdmin/Configuration/NotificationTemplates/ItemEvaluationAssignmentNotification/ message body and add the following label:
notification.ItemEvaluationAssignmentNotification.MessageText7
- Click edit label button and validation error comes up
Cause
- The reason for receiving the above mentioned validation error is that system by default stores up to six labels for specific templates within the application,
- Label with number 7 simply just does not exist within the application yet, it has to be created first.
Resolution
- Admin can add more labels but these labels have to be first created in the application and then applied to template,
- This can be done by navigating to:
References/Geography/Labels/Add new/select type NOTIFICATION:
- Then you can add this label to template and no validation error comes up.
