2300382 - Tables missing via Detailed Reporting - Report Canvas section when creating a Query


You want to create a new query via Detailed Reporting function from Report Canvas although no table is available for selection from the left panel.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to the instance
  2. Go to Report Center an select a Report Canvas Report
  3. Select the Detailed Reporting
  4. No tables are available from the list. Instead the below message is shown:
    • Drag tables/columns onto canvas
  5. The expected is to have the list of tables/schemas fields which you can drag to the report area.
  6. In this case, the affected User did not have access to Report Table permission as it was not granted to the role the user belonged to.


User did not have Create report permissions under Reports Permission. The permissions for the domains to create and run report for Report Table and Detailed Reporting (one of the tools from Report Canvas) are the same.


The issue is solved by providing the Create Report Permission as follow:

  1. Admin Center
  2. Manage Permission Role then select the desired Role. e.g. SFTEST
  3. Click on Permission
  4. Make sure the desired modules are selected for Create and Run Report


  1. Afterwards the respective tables should be available via on the detailed report as per below example.
