2300671 - Circular Reference in SF User Connector job

Error/Warning of Circular Relationship, CONNECT BY loop in user data (ORA-01436) or something similar in an SF Connector Job Error log. Or in the connector report Warning "Circular Supervisor relationship detected." is shown.

SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS)

1. Check the Error log in SF User/User Connector in LMS UI;
2. Circular Relationship error flagged for certain users OR ORA-01436: CONNECT BY loop in user data error.

• Circular reference for the SUPER field discovered in the connector input file or defect in STUD_RELATION Table which will be needed to be restored by DB Operations Team.
• There was a momentary circular relationship due to the processing of connector being made by line.

Make sure that there are no circular references created in the SUPER field in any one Connector job. No user can be the supervisor of a user who they themselves are the supervisor of. Please refer to the mapping rule for the SUPER field in the Connector Workbook. If you continue to receive the error/fail message after all circular references have been amended, a script may be required to restore tables in DB.

If temporary circular reference occurred, meaning that checking the UI of the system does not present any circular relationship, contact Cloud Support to check history of Users update and confirm the momentary occurrence. If this is the case, running the connector again should sort the records.
