2300691 - Creating a new item revision in a different locale

This is a KBA detailing how to create a new item revision in a different locale without replacing or deactivating the original item it is a translation of.

This can be achieved using the Item Connector providing the locale of the new revision is active in your system. All you need to do is include the LOCALE header field in the Item Connector input file and populate with the available locale you want to tanslate the existing item to.

Please note that whilst you can create multiple item revisions (in your respective locales) using this method, it is currently not possible to create multiple locales for the same item in the same input file. Therefore, each locale will need to be created in separate connector jobs.
